Leda Viñas Viejas, a multi-terroir tempranillo

Leda Viñas Viejas 2017 is the wine that embodies the principles of Leda, the winery owned by the Masaveu family in Tudela de Duero, Valladolid. It is a multi-terroir wine made from grapes that come from different plots of land. This wine is produced using grapes that come from organic vineyards that are between 70 and 100 years old and are spread throughout the Douro Valley.

This 100% Tempranillo wine, belonging to Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla y León and aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, has an intense, deep cherry red colour. It has aromas of red and black fruit, spices and toasted nuances. It is a complex wine and in the mouth it is powerful, sweet, fruity and balanced. Only 12,000 bottles of this wine have been produced.

Extraordinary multi-terroir wines

When you talk about Leda, in Tudela de Duero (Valladolid), you’re talking about unusual and extraordinary wines that embody sweetness and sensuality; about an attractive concept of a “multi-terroir” winery that connects the personality of the tempranillo grape with the expression of selected organic vineyards in different areas of Castile and León. This winery was founded in 1998 by the prestigious oenologist Mariano García, who is linked to some of the most important wine projects in Spain, and the Masaveu family joined the project in 2009. Its organic farming philosophy, which incorporates wines from different areas of Castile and León united by the Duero River and maximum respect for the vineyard is what sets Leda apart.
