In line with its commitment to fine, high quality monovarietal wines from D.O. Navarra, the Pagos de Araiz winery has just launched its premium Blaneo Rosé 2022 wine, with a limited edition of 7,200 bottles. This wine is a new addition to the other three wines in the premium Blaneo range from Pagos de Araiz: Blaneo Syrah, Blaneo Chardonnay and Blaneo Garnacha, launched in Summer 2022. As its name suggests, this brand represents new wines that come from the words blanco (white), which reflects the clarity of its monovarietal essence, and neo which indicates new.
“Blaneo Rosé is made with grapes selected both in the vineyard and the winery, from old grenache vineyards of over 70 years old goblet-trained vines, with very low yields, situated in the Low Mountain area, collected and placed in 12 kilo crates. The grapes are bled after a minimum maceration of two hours and cold-fermented in stainless steel tanks “, explains Juan Glaría, technical director and oenologist at Pagos de Araiz.
These vineyards enjoy cold climates, offering extra freshness and acidity to the wine, and are daily monitored and cared for by our experts at the winery. As regards the winemaking process, the 2022 vintage was marked by scarce rain, fresh temperatures in cold months and March and high temperatures the rest of the year, causing early ripening. “The scarce rains in Spring and Summer awarded concentration, and the rains before harvest maintained outstanding concentration and acidity”, adds Glaría.
The result is a rosé wine made with 100% grenache grapes, with a bright and attractive pale pink tone with salmony hues. On the nose, the aroma is clean and intense, with a lively, full attack. Acidity is balanced and the finish is long, fruity and persistent.

Pagos de Araiz Winery
With the acquisition of the Pagos de Aráiz estate in Olite by the Masaveu Family in 2000, began a fresh and daring project in the traditional D.O. Navarra. This venture began with the construction of an ultra-modern 14,000 m2 château-style winery situated just outside the medieval town of Olite.
Over the following three years, on the 300-hectare estate, 240 hectares of family-owned vineyards were planted with several grape varietals (tempranillo, graciano, grenache, merlot, cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay and syrah). The innovative management method and the wide variety of wine tourism activities connect the historical, natural and winemaking importance of the area to art and gastronomy. The ideal scenario for a brilliant and promising future, linked to the values of Navarra, a classical yet emerging winemaking territory.

Last year, this winery in Navarra obtained the Wineries For Climate Protection (WFCP) stamp that certifies it as an environmentally sustainable winery.Only fifty wineries in Spain hold this certificate which is proof of the winery’s commitment to the environment, awarding it added value and a competitive advantage. This certification highlights the winery’s commitment in the fight against climate change and its bid for sustainability, acting on four basic pillars of its activity: reducing its carbon footprint, energy efficiency, water management and reduction of residues. Pagos de Araiz currently manages 32 hectares of vineyards following Organic Farming criteria and 210 following Integrated Production standards with the aim to make them all organic in the medium term.
Pagos de Araiz has two ranges: Blaneo and Pagos de Araiz. The Pagos de Araiz range has five wines, and the premium line Blaneo, has four high range wines which are monovarietal and limited production.
