The Pagos de Araiz Rosado 2020 wine has been chosen in the Selection of DO Navarra Wines in its thirteenth edition as the best rosé wine. The blind tasting, which guarantees anonymity and is made up of a professional panel of experts from outside the Navarra Denomination of Origin, was held last week at the headquarters of the Regulatory Council. On that day, the 115 samples presented belonging to 40 different wineries of the DO Navarra were tasted, obtaining Pagos de Araiz Rosado 2020 the best score among all the rosés presented.

For Juan Glaría, the winery’s oenologist, “this award means recognition of the effort and care with which the entire team works day by day in their own vineyards and productions, and with which they hope to promote the positioning of Navarra wines” .

Pagos de Araiz Winery

With the acquisition of the Finca de Pagos de Araiz in Olite, by the Masaveu family in 2000, a fresh and daring project germinated in the traditional DO Navarra. This commitment began with the construction of an absolutely avant-garde 14,000 m 2 château-style winery located on the outskirts of the medieval town of Olite.

In the following three years, 240 of their own vineyards were planted on this 300-hectare estate around the facilities with different varieties of grapes (Tempranillo, Graciano, Garnacha, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Syrah). The innovative management method and the wide variety of wine tourism activities on offer connect the historical, natural and winemaking importance of the area to art and gastronomy. The ideal scenario for a brilliant and promising future, linked to the values of Navarra, a classical yet emerging winemaking territory.
