Wineries and vineyards
Bodegas Leda , located in Tudela de Duero, Valladolid, was promoted in its beginnings in 1998 by the prestigious oenologist Mariano García, linked to some of the most important wine projects in Spain. The Masaveu family joined this project in 2009 to subsequently produce wines with a philosophy of organic farming with maximum respect for the vineyard. Leda represents an attractive concept of a “multi-terroir” winery that connects the essence of the Tempranillo grape with the expression of some 20 hectares of selected vineyards from different areas of Castilla y León, resulting in wines of incredible power and personality.
Murua Wineries is located in the heart of the Rioja Alavesa, in Elciego, a historic town built in the s. XVI that impregnates it with a unique wine tradition. This winery belonging to the DOCa. Rioja was the first to form part of this wine group and has a valuable and exclusive winegrowing, winery, artistic and cultural heritage. The more than 80 hectares of vineyards of different varieties are located in the vicinity of the winery and in nearby towns. The wine tourism possibilities it offers, around the five high-end wines it produces, are unlimited and it has been recognized with the Best Of Award for Wine Tourism in the categories of Art and Culture.
With the acquisition of Finca Pagos de Araiz by the Masaveu family, a fresh and daring project germinated in Navarra, which was completed with the founding of the winery in 2003. An absolutely avant-garde château-style building on the outskirts of the medieval town of Olite stands out against a backdrop of 150 hectares of its own vineyards surrounding the facilities. Its innovative form of management and a wide range of wine tourism, connects Pagos de Araiz to the historical, natural and wine-producing weight of the environment with art and gastronomy.
The Valverán cider place, located in Sariego, the heart of the Cider Region of Asturias, is the result of more than ten years of research and testing. There José Masaveu Herrero, General Director of Masaveu Bodegas, began his most personal project in 1998. Today, more than 20,000 apple trees are cared for -in 35 hectares planted with different varieties- using organic farming techniques integrated into an 84-hectare estate that expresses all the green charm of the Asturian landscape to produce a unique and original product: the exclusive cider from Valverán ice 20 apples.
Masaveu Bodegas wines begin in the vineyard. The terroir is the base on which the balance of what will later complete a job well done is sustained. The importance of caring for the land to extract the best raw material is essential for this wine group that cares for and owns a total of more than 400 hectares cultivated with vineyards and apple trees spread over the geographical indications where it is present. A puzzle of colors, aromas, landscapes and flavors that can be appreciated from the land itself to extract the best of it.
