The wines made by the wine group Masaveu Bodegas and more precisely, the wines made by the Fillaboa (DO Rías Baixas), Leda (Castilla y León) Murua (DOCa. Rioja), Pagos de Araiz (DO Navarra) wineries and the ice cider from the Llagar Valverán (Asturias) cider mill, have won several prizes in the latest edition of the Gilbert & Gaillard Contest. In fact, they have obtained 10 Gold medals and 5 Double Gold medals amongst all of the wines from their four wineries and the cider mill represented in this edition.
The five wines awarded with the top prize were: Fillaboa Selección Finca Monte Alto 2020 (92 points), Leda Viñas Viejas 2019 (91 points), VS Murua 2020 (90 points), Blaneo Syrah 2020 (90 points) and Valverán 20 Manzanas 2020 (90 points).

The Masaveu family first invested in the wine sector in 1974 when they purchased the Murua Winery in DOCa Rioja, however the family’s first vineyards date back to the middle of the 19th century, precisely in Castellar del Vallés where the family originally comes from and where Federico Masaveu Rivell began a journey to be continued one century later by his descendants.
Since then, Bodegas Masaveu has grown to become a benchmark, for the quality in the production of its wines in different DO’s and for the environmental philosophy that they demonstrate and the maximum respect for the land, in which it has its own plantations. of vineyards, thanks to which they manage to transmit, in each bottle, the unique personality of each terroir.
