Bodegas Murua joins the Rioja con Corazón initiative.

The Masaveu Wineries winery, located in Elciego in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, is joining the charitable initiative Rioja con Corazón, which will raise funds for Cáritas thanks to contributions from 25 Rioja wineries, including Murua, with the collaboration of the Cofradía del Vino and the sponsorship of Carlos Echapresto, organized by Riojadhesivos.

Murua’s solidarity wine, from the 2020 vintage and made mainly from Tempranillo, Graciano, and Garnacha grapes, features a special label design with a heart at its center and is aged for 15 months in French and American oak barrels. It is a bright cherry-red wine with aromas of spices, black fruits, rose petals, and almonds. It has an intense and captivating entry, good volume, and a persistent finish, making it ideal for pairing with grilled meats and chocolates during the Christmas season.

Through this campaign, Wineries Murua will raise €600 by selling 300 bottles of its Aclys con Corazón wine, which can already be found here in the Wineries Masaveu online store at a price of €9 per bottle, of which €2 will be allocated to help children and young people at risk of social exclusion and to the emergency campaign carried out by Cáritas Española in Valencia.

Part of the donation will be allocated to regional needs, such as school meal scholarships and other socio-educational projects for children and young people at risk of social exclusion, while another part will go to the aid and reconstruction campaign in the municipalities affected by the DANA in Valencia.

About Masaveu Wineries

The Masaveu family began investing in the winemaking sector in 1974, when they acquired Bodegas Murua, but the family’s vineyard plantings date back to the mid-19th century, specifically in Castellar del Vallés, where the family originates and where Federico Masaveu Rivell started the steps that a century later would be continued by his descendants.

Since then, Wineries Masaveu has grown steadily with a strong commitment to quality in the production of its wines across different DOs, embracing an ecological philosophy and utmost respect for the land, where it owns its own vineyards, allowing them to convey the unique personality of each terroir in every bottle. In this way, all of Masaveu Bodegas’ projects across different parts and regions of the country come together under a common denominator: Murua (DOCa. Rioja), Fillaboa (DO. Rías Baixas), Pagos de Araiz (DO. Navarra), Leda (Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León), and Valverán (Asturias).
