Bodegas Leda, located in Tudela de Duero, Valladolid, and part of the prestigious Masaveu Wineries group, received the Gold Medal for Leda Viñas Viejas 2020 last Thursday at the award ceremony of the CINVE Competition, held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Madrid.
In this twenty-first edition, wines from more than 11 countries such as Germany, Italy, Argentina, Australia, and others were presented. The jury is made up of a diverse range of profiles from different backgrounds, including sommeliers, bartenders, winemakers, specialized journalists, and distributors.
With this latest edition, Bodegas Leda has now stood out for three consecutive years, winning the Gold Medal in this renowned competition. In addition, on this occasion, a Silver Medal was awarded to another of the winery’s wines, Más de Leda 2021.
Leda Viñas Viejas is a wine that embodies the principles of the Valladolid-based winery, which produces multi-terroir wines from organic vineyards spread throughout the Duero Valley, aged between 70 and 100 years, with different microclimates and ripening times.
This wine has been recognized nationally and internationally with high scores: 96 points and the Grand Gold Medal at the 2024 Wine & Spirits Awards, 93 points in the 2025 Guía Vivir el Vino, and 91 points awarded by the renowned wine review website James Suckling, among others.

Leda Viñas Viejas 2020 is an organic wine, with a very limited production of 15,473 bottles for this vintage, aiming to create a wine with a unique personality and characteristics.
The work in the vineyard and winery, including 23 months of aging in new oak barrels (French, American, and Spanish), resulted in a wine with an intense cherry red color, aromas of dark fruits such as blackberry and blueberry, hints of sweet and balsamic spices, along with toasted and hazelnut nuances that give it complexity, making it a balanced, silky, and elegant wine.
About Masaveu Wineries
The Masaveu family began investing in the winemaking sector in 1974, when they acquired Bodegas Murua, but the family’s vineyard plantings date back to the mid-19th century, specifically in Castellar del Vallés, where the family originates and where Federico Masaveu Rivell started the steps that a century later would be continued by his descendants.
Since then, Masaveu Wineries has grown steadily with a strong commitment to quality in the production of its wines across different DOs, embracing an ecological philosophy and utmost respect for the land, where it owns its own vineyards, allowing them to convey the unique personality of each terroir in every bottle. In this way, all of Masaveu Wineries’ projects across different parts and regions of the country come together under a common denominator: Murua (DOCa. Rioja), Fillaboa (DO. Rías Baixas), Leda (Wine of Tierra de Castilla y León) and Valverán (Asturias).
