Leda Wineries, located in Tudela de Duero, Valladolid, has won two major awards in the latest edition of the international CINVE 2024 competition, earning Gold Medals for two of its wines: Más de Leda 2020 and Guarda de Leda Selección 2019.
With these awards, the winery, part of the Masaveu Wineries group, once again receives recognition from the international jury of this competition, composed of sommeliers, winemakers, and specialized journalists. In last year’s edition, Leda Viñas Viejas 2019 had already been awarded another Gold Medal and scored over 90 points. An award of this kind is very welcome, as it is truly gratifying to see the effort and dedication of the entire Leda Wineries team recognized for crafting exceptional and sustainable multi-terroir wines from old Tempranillo vines.,” says Miguel Rivero, winemaker at Leda Wineries
The 20th edition of this competition, held a few days ago in Cáceres, evaluated wines produced across all Spanish regions as well as in countries such as Argentina, Australia, and Germany, among many others. This highlights the significance of the gold medals awarded to More of Leda and Guarda de Leda Selección, two of the three wines produced by Leda Wineries.

More of Leda 2020 is an authentic, artisanal, intense, and balanced wine. The jury of these awards highlighted its elegance and origin from organic vineyards aged between 40 and 60 years. It is a red wine resulting from the integration of different tempranillo vineyards, aiming to capture the essence of the regions it comes from, mainly Toro, Cigales, and Tudela de Duero. Only 27,273 bottles of 0.75 liters, 600 magnum bottles, 40 bottles of 3 liters, and 20 bottles of 5 liters were produced from this vintage. It is a wine that pairs exceptionally well with barbecues, grilled vegetables, and both red and white meats.

On the other hand, Guarda de Leda Selección 2019, the winery’s super–premium wine, comes from the oldest organically farmed plots at Bodegas Leda, nearly 100 years old, with very low yields. It is an artisanal wine, 100% organic tempranillo, produced only in exceptional vintages. The limited edition of Guarda de Leda Selección 2019, aged 32 months in barrels, consists of 5,628 bottles. On the palate, it is firm and elegant, direct, with excellent length, and pairs perfectly with stews and grilled red meats.
About Masaveu Wineries
The Masaveu family began investing in the wine sector in 1974, when they acquired Bodegas Murua in Rioja Alavesa. However, the family’s vineyard plantings date back to the mid-19th century, specifically in Castellar del Vallés, their place of origin, where Federico Masaveu Rivell started the vineyard endeavors that a century later would be continued by his descendants.
Since then, Masaveu Wineries has grown to become a benchmark in the industry, recognized for the quality of its wines across various DOs and for its environmental philosophy and utmost respect for the land, on which it owns its own vineyard plantations. Thanks to these vineyards, each bottle conveys the unique personality of its terroir. In this way, all the projects undertaken by Masaveu Wineries across different regions share a common denominator: Fillaboa (DO Rías Baixas), Leda (Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León), Murua (DOCa Rioja), Pagos de Araiz (DO Navarra), and Valverán (Asturias).
