Adapted for various devices and fully responsive, the site also links to other points of interest for consumers, such as the online store or information about the group it belongs to, Masaveu Wineries.Valverán was founded in 1999 as the first and most exclusive ice cider in the Iberian Peninsula. The El Rebollar estate in Sariego, Asturias, covers 35 hectares with 20,000 apple trees of 11 different varieties (Blanquina, Xuanina, Regona, Raxao, Fuentes, Collaos, De la Riega, Verdialona, Perico, Durona de Tresali, and San Roqueña), enabling the production of 18,000 bottles of this distinguished ice cider filled with nuances. It can be described as a sensual, fresh, and surprising beverage that pairs perfectly with foie gras, cheeses, and lightly sweet desserts.

Valverán 20 Apples Ice Cider

The name Valverán 20 Apples comes from the amount of apples needed to produce each 37.5 cl bottle, which is at least 20 apples and up to 28, depending on the weather conditions of that particular vintage.
This beverage is produced through a complex process that begins with freezing the apples at 20 degrees below zero, followed by fermentation for 10 months and aging on fine lees for another 12 months. The entire process usually takes about two years from the moment the apples are harvested to when the bottle reaches the final consumer, preserving the initial fruity and sensory qualities.
To achieve this exclusive and highly valued product, the visionary character of José Masaveu, CEO of Masaveu Wineries, was needed, along with nearly ten years of research and trials, along with great effort and dedication.

This innovative product has been awarded numerous accolades in recent years, such as Best Ice Cider at the 2019 Nava Cider Competition, the Gold Medal at the 2018 Gilbert & Gaillard Guide, first place in the ice cider category at the 2017 International Cider Salon, among other prestigious national and international awards.

Masaveu Wineries

The Masaveu family entered the winemaking sector in 1974 when they acquired Murua Wineries. However, the family’s vineyard plantings date back to the mid-19th century, specifically in Castellar del Vallés, the family’s origin, where Federico Masaveu Rivell took the first steps that his descendants would continue a century later.
Since then, Masaveu Wineries has grown to become a reference in the industry, known for the quality of its wines across different Designations of Origin, its environmental philosophy, and its utmost respect for the land. Through the careful cultivation of its vineyards, they manage to express the unique personality of each terroir in their wines. This shared philosophy is present across all of Masaveu Wineries’ projects in various parts and regions of Spain: Murua (DOCa Rioja), Fillaboa (DO Rías Baixas), Pagos de Araiz (DO Navarra), Leda (Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León), and Valverán (Asturias).
